Combining ancient yoga practice with modern medical knowledge in a whole-person approach, this workshop provides a background regarding the science of arthritis as well as guidance for yoga practices that address the unique abilities and limitations of persons living with arthritic conditions.

This workshop is part of the elective workshop series for Red Lila School of Yoga's 300-hour YTT program, and is open to ALL yoga teachers in the public to attend!
Steffany Moonaz, PhD, C-IAYT, is a yoga therapist and researcher in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Moonaz is the founder of Yoga for Arthritis. Dr. Moonaz spent 8 years at Johns Hopkins University, creating and evaluating a yoga program for individuals with the chronic diseases of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis and now serves as the Director of Research at the Maryland University of Integrative Health, which offers the nation's only Masters of Science in Yoga Therapy. Yoga for Arthritis, works to bring yoga to people with arthritis in communities nationwide, as well as educating yoga teachers about the unique needs of this population. Steffany also serves as a mentor for several emerging researchers who are working to study the effects of yoga for various health conditions.
