Yoga for Arthritis: Thriving After 60

Join certified yoga therapist Beverly Davis-Baird for a 60-minute yoga class designed to help improve the well-being of individuals living with chronic pain, arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions.

Based on 15 years of research at a leading research university, each 60-minute class focuses on conscious, gentle movements (both seated and standing) guided by the breath.

Emphasis will be on movements to reduce joint stiffness, poses to build strength and flexibility, breathing strategies to help manage stress and pain, and mindfulness practices to build resilience and peace of mind. In addition, Beverly will share the science behind the practices as well as provide suggestions for ways to bring the practices and benefits of yoga in your daily life. Participants will need a sturdy chair and the ability to stand without assistance.
