Yoga for Arthritis: Thriving After 60

Join certified yoga therapist Beverly Davis-Baird for a 60-minute yoga class designed to help improve the well-being of individuals living with chronic pain, arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions.

Based on 15 years of research at a leading research university, each 60-minute class focuses on conscious, gentle movements (both seated and standing) guided by the breath.

Emphasis will be on movements to reduce joint stiffness, poses to build strength and flexibility, breathing strategies to help manage stress and pain, and mindfulness practices to build resilience and peace of mind. In addition, Beverly will share the science behind the practices as well as provide suggestions for ways to bring the practices and benefits of yoga in your daily life. Participants will need a sturdy chair and the ability to stand without assistance.

Suitable for those who can get down to the floor, are relatively mobile and able to move in all planes of direction. 
Breathing, Yoga poses and relaxation. 
1 hour class, check in up to 15 minutes before.
You will need a chair, pillows, blankets and space the size of a single bed.
Time to chat after class with teacher and fellow students from your class.
